Area of a rectangle=length * breadth

rectangle = ABCD

ADPQ is a trapezium.

Therefore area of ADPQ = 1/2*Breadth*(1/2length+1/3 length)

                                         = 1/2*5/6*length*breadth

                                         =5/12*length*breadth

But length*breadth is the area of the rectangle..

So Area of ADPQ=5/12*Area of the rectangle.

Hope this helps.

Answer:

5/12

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of a rectangle=length * breadth

rectangle = ABCD

ADPQ is a trapezium.

Therefore area of ADPQ = 1/2*Breadth*(1/2length+1/3 length)

                                        = 1/2*5/6*length*breadth

                                        =5/12*length*breadth

But length*breadth is the area of the rectangle..

So Area of ADPQ=5/12*Area of the rectangle.

Hope this helps.
