If in three test tubes contains acidic, basic and neutral solutions, respectively, then we can identify it by pH paper strip:

pH is a figure expressing the acidity or alkalinity of a solution on a logarithmic scale on which 7 is neutral, lower values are more acid and higher values more alkaline. The pH is equal to −log10 c, where c is the hydrogen ion concentration in moles per litre.
Now, if we dip the pH paper strip into 1st solution and the strip's color change into reddish color then it is acidic solution.
Again, if we dip the pH paper strip into 2nd solution and the strip's color change into greenish color then it is basic solution.
Again, if we dip the pH paper strip into 3rd solution and the strip's color does not change then it is neutral solution.
Hence, by pH paper we can identify the type of solutions.
