Spinal cord controls all kinds of involuntary actions or reflex actions like our sudden removal of hands away from the hot plate. These actions are not under the control of brain only brain gets the information that the action has been taken place. It also controls the movements of limbs in the body.

2)it helps in transmitting electrical impulses from one part of the body to another.
3)it helps in conducting voluntary actions such as walking or riding a bicycle.
