The steps to determine the presence of water vapour in the atmosphere

1) Dry the outside of a glass with a piece of dry cloth

2) Put some ice cubes in the glass

3) Leave the glass in an open place for sometime

4) Observe/touch the outside of the glass after some time


Observation:

The outside of the glass will be wet and will have some droplets of water.


Explanation

The water droplets is as a result of condensed water from the atmosphere

The steps to show the presence of water vapour are -

1) Take a glass tumbler, clean and dried from outside.

2) Place the cubes of ice in the glass tumbler and allow the tumbler to stand for sometime.

Observation - Water droplets are seen to appear on the outer dry surface of the tumbler.

Conlusion - Water vapour present in air, condenses on the cooler surface of the tumbler. Hence air contains - water vapour.
