AD is the diameter of a circle of radius 6 cm and AB = BC
= CD. Semi-circles are drawn with AB and BD as diameters
as shown in the figure. Find the perimeter and area of the
shaded region.​

Answer:

AD=6*2=12 cm

thus are of semicircle made on base AD

A1=pi/2*6^2

=56.52 cm^2

sibnce AB=BC=CD

Thus we can say that

AB=AD/3

12/3

AB=4cm

thus area of semicircle dawn on base AB

A2=pi/2*4

=6.28cm^2

Similarly

Area of semicircle draw on base BD

A3=pi/2*16

25.12 cm^2

thus area of shaded region

A=A1-A3+A2

A=56.52-25.12+6.28

A=37.68 cm^2
