It is a question which is added at the end of the sentence to give emphasis on the sentence.

If sentence is negative add positive question tag if sentence is positive add negative question tag.

We can add question tag with the help of helping verb. If helping verb is not there use do,does, did according to the verb.

examples-

They are searching banks.

They are searching banks, aren't they?

There are some exceptions like when there is use of 'am' in the sentence we should use 'aren't'

example-

I am a salesman.

I am a salesman, aren't I?
