The Indian National Congress was founded in 1885 by Civil service officer Allan Octavian Hume.
The early years of congress had strong and prominent members like Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Bipin Chandra Pal, Lala Lajpat Rai, Gopal Krishna Gokhale, and Mohammed Ali Jinnah.
Bal Gangadhar tilak was an indian freedom fighter and activist and fought the british by becoming the first leader of the Indian independence movement.
Jinnah played a huge role in the partition of India and Pakistan
