Introduction:
Forest-based Industry includes- the paper industry, match industry, silk industry, lac industry, sports goods industry and handicraft. Soft wood-In India, soft wood is obtained from the Himalayan region.
Advantages:
These benefits include: amelioration of weather pattern, provision of clean air, protection of biological diversity, protection of watershed, soil and food crops and provision of recreational facilities.
Disadvantages:
The disadvantages to deforestation are an increased amount of carbon dioxide emissions and soil erosion as well as the destruction of forest habitat and the loss of biological diversity of both plants and animals.
