advantages:

*fishes do not compete for food as they have diffrnt food habits.
*food available in all the zones of the pond is used.
*yield is high.

disadvantages:
*lack of availability of good seed.
*many of these fish breed only during monsoon.
*if fish seed is collected from the wild,it can be mixed with other seeds.
