generally the bond between the hemoglobin and oxygen is weaker than the bond between hemoglobin and carbon monoxide..
carbon monoxide if once bound to hemoglobin the bond can't be broken and hemoglobin will become carboxyhemoglobin..
there will be no space for oxygen to buy into hemoglobin does decreasing the oxygen bound hemoglobin..
this is fatal to life..
