If a clinical trial concludes that both drugs a and b are equally effective, it would be known as  a ''Null Hypothesis''

In such cases, the trials can then check to see which medicine has less side effects or is less costly to produce.

This would help to determine which medicine is more commercially viable.

If both drugs a and b are seen to be equally effective in a clinical trial then this hypothesis would be seen as a null hypothesis. If both drugs are equally effective then we can check to see which of the two drugs have more side effects. The one with less side effects would be better.

We can also check which of the two drugs is less costly to produce. The less costly it is the better.

We can then conclude which of the two medicines is better.
