It will almost take around 4 billion years for Andromeda galaxy to collide with our Milky way galaxy ..and after the collision takes place the solar system will not be entirely unaffected during this collision. Gravity will most likely tug the sun into a new orbit, dragging Earth and the other planets with it. But even though the Milky Way and Andromeda each have 100 billion stars, it is unlikely that many will meet.
