the road not taken describes the confusion caused in the mind of Robert frost on being stopped at a junction in a yellowy forest where 2 roads diverged. the roads represent the choices he has in his life describing one road he says that it was very worn and torn as if many people had already walked on it and the other one needed some footprints on it as many had not walked on it. the poet, however knowing that this opportunity will never come again in life, chose the 2nd one. after he reaches the end of the road he sighs and thanks God for his good choice
