- Basically wind is the horizontal movement of air also termed as ADVECTION.
- Whenever there is High Pressure: Air is converging and ascending.
- Whenever there is Low Pressure: Air is diverging and descending.
- Henceforth, whenever there is a high pressure area the air starts ascending and convergence is noticed since to fill in the vacuum created, the air from the surrounding areas come and occupy the place.
- On the other hand whenever there is a situation of low pressure areas on greater heights from the Earth, the wind seems to diverge and descend which eventually results as the situation of rain.
Henceforth, the notion of wind flow from high pressure area to a low pressure area is correct.
