2-The area marked big rivers which causes flood almost every year.
3 Air transport in these areas makes transportation easier and quicker.

2. In north-eastern most of the land is covered with snow thus deteriorating land transport. Airways is not affected by this.
3. Also there are a number of airports in north-eastern states. Therefore, airways do not charge much for transport and even it is cheaper than land transport.
