Ajay starts from his house to his office by his car which is 15km away at an average speed of 45 km per hour . On the way back he takes a route longer by 5 km since there is heavy traffic on the regular route . If he reaches home in the same time as the time he took to reach office in the morning. find his speed on the return journey

Solution :

in morning when he went office from home

speed of car 45 km/hr

then time taken = distance/speed

=> 15/45

=> ⅓ hour

=> 20 minutes

at the evening when returned from office to home

the travel 20km and time taken 20 minutes ⅓ hour

then speed of car when he returned

=> 20/⅓

=> 20 x 3

=> 60km

=> 60km/hr his speed on the return journey
