Step-by-step explanation:

Total savings with akbar = rs 24,000

part of money given to his wife =

1/3 of akbar's savings

=1/3×24,000 = 8000

Remaining money = 24,000 - 8,000

= 16,000

part of money given to son =

2/5 of remaining money

=2/5×16,000

=6,400

Total money remaining =

16,000 - 6,400 = 9,400

So, the balance amount that was remaining with akbar was rs.9,400
