Hii friend,

Your answer is "rectifier".

Rectifier is a device used in converting alternating current into the direct current and this process is known rectification.

Hope this helps you a little!!!

Alternating current or AC current is the current which continuously changes its identity, means it keeps changing its direction and magnitude, when travelling through a conductor.

Direct current or DC current is the current which doesn't changes its magnitude and direction, but keeps them constant as equal to that provided I initially.

Somewhere we have use of AC current and somewhere we have use of DC current thus , due to the needs we have also found the way to convert AC current to DC current.

Device used to Convert AC current into DC current is known as Rectifier.

There are many types of rectifier but the simplest one is Half - Wave Rectifier.

A half wave rectifier is made of only one diode.

A full wave rectifier is mainly made up of two diodes, or we can say it's a combination of two half wave rectifiers.
