although wood has a very high calorific value, we still discourage its use as a fuel. explain!!!!

Actually, the wood which is dry is better used as fuel., but still it is not used much as, using the other fuels is better than this (why would you prefer iron if you have gold).
Aslo because using more amount of wood leads to deforestation, which is nowadays the worst threat to our environment

because it's calorific value is far less then LPG petrol diesel etc and to be a good fuel wood don't posses some characteristics like having low ignition temperature moderate rate of combustion etc.Also it creates much pollution.so it is not widely as fuel
