Solution:-
The path is 2m wide on each side and goes across to the centre of the opposite side.
On one side Length = 60 m and Breadth = 2 m;
On the other side Length = 55 m and Breadth = 2 m
So, the area of the path on one side = 60 × 2 = 120 sq m
Area of the path on the other side = 55 × 2 = 110 sq m
Now, the area of the central part has been included twice so, it has to be deducted from the total area.
Therefore,
120 + 110 - (2 × 2)
230 - 4
Area of the path = 226 sq m

Step-by-step explanation:

the path is 2m wide on each side and goes across to the centre of the opposite side.

on the side length = 60m and breadth = 2m;

on the other side length = 55m and breadth = 2m

so,

the area of the path on one side = 60×2 = 120 sq m

area of the path on the other side = 55×2 110 sq m

now,

the area of the central part has been included twice so, it has to be deducted from the total area .

therefore,

120+110 - (2×2)

230‐(4)

area of the path = 226 sq m.
