When an electric current is passed through a high resistance wire, the Resistance wire becomes very hot and produces heat. This is called heating effect of electric current.
And when an electric current is passed through a wire it produces magnetic field around it, this is called magnetic effect of electric current.
Hope it helped.

magnetic effect of electric current: the display of behaviour/ properties, similar to that of a magnet by a current carrying wire/ coil.
heating effect of electric current: production of heat in a wire/ coil due to the flow of an electric current
hope this helps you............xD
