Let the angle be x.

Then, its supplement = (180 - x)

Now,

x = 2( 180 - x ) - 30

=> x = 360 - 2x - 30

=> x + 2x = 360 - 30

=> 3x = 330

=> x = 330/3

=> x = 110

Hence, the angle is 110° .

The value of angle is 110°

GIVEN

An angle is 30 degree less than 2 times its supplement. find the angle.

TO FIND

Find the angle.

SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows;

Angles are known as supplementary angles if their sum is equal to 180°

Let the angle be x

Supplimentary angle = y

Therefore,

x + y = 180° (Equation 1)

It is given that, angle is 30 degree less than 2 times its supplement.

Therefore,

x = 2y-30

So,

y = x + 30/2 (Equation 2)

Putting the value of y from equation 2 in equation 1.

x +  \frac{x + 30}{2}  = 180

 =  \frac{2x + x + 30}{2}  = 180

 = 3x + 30 = 360

 = 3x = 330

 =  x = 330 \div 3 = 110

Hence, The value of angle is 110°
