Given :-

  • Diameter of circular track = 42 m
  • Radius, r = 42/2 = 21 m
  • Time taken by athlete to complete one round = 20 seconds.

To Find :-

  • Distance covered = ?
  • Displacement = ?

Formula to be used :-

  • Speed = Distance/Time
  • Circumference of circle = 2πr

Solution :-

  • Number of rounds = 30/20 = 1.5
  • ⇒ Distance covered = 1.5 × circumference
  • ⇒ Distance covered = 1.5 × 2 × 22/7 × 100
  •  ⇒ Distance covered = 942.85 m = 943 m (Approx.)
  • Hence, the distance covered at the end of 30 seconds is 943 m.
  • And displacement is 42 m as it return to initial position again.
