Given ,

  • An atom has 4 protons, 4 electrons and 5 neutrons

As we know that ,

Atomic number of an element is equal to the number of protons present in the nucleus of the atom of the element

 \sf \large \fbox{Atomic \:  number = Number  \: of \:  protons </p><p></p><p>}

Thus ,

Atomic number = 4

Now ,

Mass number of element is equal to the sum of number of protons and neutrons

  \large \sf  \fbox{Mass  \: number = Number \:  of  \: protons + Number \:  of  \: Neutrons }

Thus ,

Mass number = 4 + 5

Mass number = 9

 \sf \therefore \underline{Atomic \:  number = 4  \: and \:  Mass \:  number = 9}
