As you know about echo , you should know that a sound is reflected by a solid body and then come to you and it is known as echo.

suppose it return in 3 second then the sound produced take 3/2 second i.e  1.5 second to reach the reflecting surface.

You know distance=speed*time.

so, distance between the reflecting surface and the source of sound is 330 (speed of sound) *1.5

so distance =495m

\red {HELLO\:DEAR}

Speed of sound, v = 342 m s−1

Echo returns in time, t = 3 s

Distance travelled by sound = v × t = 342 × 3 = 1026 m

In the given time interval, sound has to travel a distance that is twice the distance of the reflecting surface and the source.

Hence, the distance of the reflecting surface from the source = (1026/2)m= 513m
