Given : Power = 750 W and Voltage = 220 V

Find : i) The current (I) passing through it

ii) And the resistance (R)

Solution :

i) We know that..

Power = Voltage × Current

We can also, write it like

P = V × I

Put the known values in above formula to find the value of I (current)

=> 750 = 220 × I

=> I = 750/220

=> I = 3.40 A

ii) Now,

We know that..

V = IR

(By ohm's law)

Put the known values in above formula

=> 220 = 3.40 × R

=> R = 220/3.40

=> R = 64.7 ohms

Answer :-

Current is 3.40 A and Resistance is 64.7 ohms.

Actually Welcome to the Concept of the Current Electricity and Power.

Basically here, the Electric power is the Electric work done per unit time,

So we know that,

Power = Voltage * Current

Thus we get as,

750 = 220 * I

I = 750/220 = 3.40 Amperes

thus Current = 3.40 A

Now, According to ohms law, we know that,

V = I*R

so, 220 = 3.40 * R

thus, R = 220 /3.40 = 64.7 ohms

Thus the resistance of the Electric Iron is 64.7 ohms
