An electric lamp is marked 20W, 220V. it is used for 10hours daily. Calculate (a) Its resistance while glowing (b) no. of units consumed everyday

a) We know the Formula for power is P=V^2/ R
putting values we get R= 242 ohm.
b) 1 unit = 1 kwh
Power consumed in 10 hrs. will be P*t i. e. 20W*10= 200wh or 0.2 kwh/unit.
