an element "x" has mass number 35 And the number of neutrons is 18 identify the group number and peroid of "x"

Genius010199: element mass no of 35 and neutron is 18 then is atomic no will be.....(mass number- neutrons) ...........35-18=17
Genius010199: since it has 27 as atomic no then its electronic configuration is 2,8,7 which shows that it has negative valency in order to complete its octet it have tske an elecron
Genius010199: so the element will come in group no 17 of halogens and come in period no 3

an element "x" is chlorine as it's mass is 35and there it's atomic no. is 35-18=17
electric configuration is 2,8,7
therefore, Group No. of chlorine is 10 +7 =17 Grp
and
period No. of chlorine is 3.

hope is helps.
