element X is trivalent
so, compound with oxygen is X2O3
4X + 3O2 →2 X2O3

abhi178: so, compound form by this is X2O3
abhi178: when, we react X with O
abhi178: so, X + O2 → X2O3
abhi178: now, balance chemical equation
abhi178: multiply 3 with O2 and 2 with X2O3
abhi178: and multiply 4 with X
abhi178: then, you equation will be balanced
abhi178: e.g 4 X + 3O2 →2 X2O3
abhi178: valency of any element represent , how this is combined with other , elements not for reaction
abhi178: okies , i think now you have to understand
