Let the mass of the car be m.

Force = 4m

The total mass will be 2m

The acceleration is as follows :

M = 4m/s²

2m gives?

2m/m × 4

2 × 4 = 8 m/s²

The acceleration doubles.

= 8m/s²

Answer:

2m/s^2

Explanation:

looking for the combined acceleration?

F = m*a

in this case

F = m*a1

a1 is the original accleartion

so now

F = 2m* a2

combine the two

m*a1 = 2m* a2

a2 is the accelation when the mass is doubled

a2 = a1 / 2 = 2 m/s^2
