In this experiment, the fizz is produced by a chemical reaction between baking soda and vinegar. Baking soda andvinegar react, and one of the products of the reaction is carbon dioxide gas. This gas forms bubbles that are surrounded by the liquid. ... Vinegarcontains acetic acid dissolved in water.

An experiment for the preparation of carbon dioxide can be done using vinegar and baking soda. Follow the given steps:

1)Take a transparent container (plastic glass preferably for a better view of the solution) or any other container.

2)Pour half cup vinegar.

3) Add the two spoons of baking soda.

4)let the solution settle and mix it slightly.

5) Observe that bubbles start forming. these bubbles when burst, give out carbon- dioxide. Although the bubbles are very small or at times large, you will also be able to hear a popping sound.
