An express train takes 1hr less than that of a
passenger train to cover a distance of 200km
If the speed of the passenger train is 10 km /hr
less than that of the express train. Find the speed.

Let the the speed of passenger train be x km/hr

then, speed of express train will be (x+10) km/hr

Distance travelled = 200 km

Time taken by express train (t) = 200/x hrs

Time taken by passenger train (T) = 200/(x+10) hrs

It is given that,

Express train takes one hour less than passenger

Hence, T-t = 1

On Putting the values of T and t ,

200/x-200/(x+10)= 1
