An insect move along a circular path of radius 14 cm with a constant speed.It take 1 min to move from a point on a part to the diamediametrically opposite point, find (1)the distance covered (2)the speed (3)the displacement (4)the average velocity. When can its velocity be zero

radius of path = 14cm

time taken by the insect = 1minute = 60s

1. Distance covered = 2πr/2

=> πr

=> 22/7×14

=>44cm(0.44m)

2) Speed = Distance/time

=> 44/60

=>11/15

=>0.73cm/s or 0.0073m/s

3) Displacement = diameter of circle

=>2r

=>2×14cm

=>28cm or 0.28m

4)Average velocity=Displacement/time

=> 0.28/60

=>0.0047m/s or 47cm/s

5)It's velocity can be zero when its displacement will be zero.

That is if the insect moved back to it's initial position from where it started.

Cheers!
