Radius =r

a) Distance covered by the object when it completes half the circle = Circumference of the semicircle

= Pi * r

Displacement of the object when it completes half the circle= Diameter of the circle(Shortest distance between initial and final position)

= 2r

b) Distance covered by the object when it completes full circle = Circumference of a circle

= 2*Pi*r

Displacement covered by the object when it completes full circle = 0 (As it starts at a certain point and comes back to the same point)

c) The type of motion observed by the object is accelerated motion because as the object moves along a circular path its speed remains constant but the direction of the body changes at every instant of time. As the direction changes the velocity of the body also changes.

Hope this helps!

Mayhem: Sorry but the direction of the rotating object is continously changing as we are dealing with the vector quantity.
Collosus: that's why I'm saying that it's uniform circular motion
Mayhem: Ok well you should consult with your teacher for the same doubt....
Collosus: I asked her, I was right indedd
Collosus: indeed*
Mayhem: ok let me check once I will respond you for the same
Mayhem: sorry but the question is not asking about the accelerated or uniform circular motion it's just asking about the motion it possess so answer should be only circular motion....
Mayhem: ok
Collosus: ok
Mayhem: Have a nice day!

An object is moving with a uniform speed in a circle of radius 'r'. Calculate the distance and displacement:

(a) when it completes half the circle,

(b) when it completes full circle,

(c) what type of motion does the object possess?
