An object is moving with uniform speed in a circular path of radius 70m.so, find distance and displacement when it complete half.

Answer:

Distance travelled by object = half the circumference

→ 1/2 × 2πr

→ πr

Taking π as 22/7,

22/7 × 70

→ 220 metres.

Hence, distance travelled = 220 metres.

After completing half a circle, the object will be diametrically opposite to it's inital position. Now we know that displacement is the shortest distance between initial and final position. Hence, it's displacement will equal the value of diameter of the circle.

Diameter of circle = 2 × R = 2 × 70 m = 140 m

Hence, magnitude of displacement = 140 m
