An object is thrown at an angle of 45o to the horizontal with a speed of
10 m/s. What is its y coordinate when x coordinate is 5m.(take g=10 m/s2)

Given :

10 \sqrt{2} m \s

Ux =Ucos45°=10m/s and Uy = U sin 45° =10m/s

Let the velocities of the projectile be Vx and Vy in vertical and horizontal direction respects

Vx =Ux =10m/s

Using V^2= V^2x+ U^2y

12.5^2 =10^2 +V^2y =Vy =_+ 7.5m/s

Y direction = Vy =Uy - gt

Where g = 10m/s^2

Upward motion = 7.5 =10 - (10)t 1

= t1 = 0.25 s

Downward motion = - 7.5 = 10- (10) t2

=t2 = 1.75 s

Time interval angle t = t2-t1

t = 1.75 - 0.25

t = 1.5 s
