An object is thrown vertically upwards and rises to a height of 20 m.
i) Calculate the velocity with which the object was thrown upwards.
ii) Calculate the time taken by the object to reach the highest point.

u = ?

we've

v² = u² + 2gh

0² = u² + 2 x -9.8 x 20

0 = u² + -19.6 x 20

0= u² + -196 x 20/ 10 ⇒ u² - 392

                                      u² = 392

                                        u = √392 = 19.798. ( approx)
