Answer:

Explanation:

Given An object of mass 10 kg is launched from from the top of building at t=0 , at an angle of 37 degrees above the horizontal with a speed of 30 m/s . After some time , an explosion splits the projectile into two pieces . one piece of mass 4 kg is observed at ( 105 , 45 ) meters at t=2 secs . find the location of second piece at t=2 secs

Given two particles split.

So velocity will be 30 x cos 37 = 30 x 4/5 = 24 m/s

30 x 3/5 = 18 m/s

After 2 secs x coordinate will be 24 x 2 = 48 m

Now y coordinate will be s = ut – 1/2 gt^2

                                            = 18 x 2 – 1/2 x 10 x 4

                                         S = 36 – 20 = 16

So y coordinate will be 16

Now centre of mass will be 48 = 4 x 105 + 6x / 10

                                          6x = 60

                                   Or x = 10 m

So below the ground y = - 2 secs and hence coordinates will be (10,-2)
