velocity=330m/s

time taken to hear echo=4 seconds

echo is reflection of sound

so,

therefore,

2 seconds were taken in reaching that distance

and another 2 seconds were taken for returning

distance(including the returning)=4*330

=1320 m

he wanted to hear echo in=(4-1.2)=2.8 seconds

so,

distance=velocity*time

distance=330*2.8

=924m

he have to walk

=(1320-924)/2

=396/2

=198m

hope it helps
