Inner dimensions are;

length = (x-a) units,  breadth = (y-a) units and  height = (z-a) units

Step-by-step explanation:

Since, it is given that the tank has cuboid shape.

Also, it is given that its thickness is 'a' units.

Its outer dimensions are given as:

length = x units

breadth = y units

height = z units

here, we can understand that the outer dimensions include the thickness.

If we subtract thickness 'a' from the outer dimensions, we get the corresponding inner dimensions.

Therefore,

  • Inner length = outer length - thickness

= (x - a) units

  • Inner breadth = outer breadth - thickness

= (y - a) units

  • Inner height = outer height - thickness

= (z - a) units

Thus, the inner dimensions are length = (x-a) units,  breadth = (y-a) units and  height = (z-a) units
