12. Length of rope = 65/2 m.
length of piece which was cut = 13/4
let 'y' pieces be cut.
⇒ 13/4 × y = 65/2
⇒ y = 65/2 × 4/13
⇒ y = 10

13. If the man has 'x' amount of land.
Sold portion = x/2
Portion given to son = x/2 × 1/2 = x/4
Portion given to daughter = x/2 × 1/3 = x/6
Remaining portion = x - x/2 - x/4 - x/6
                              = x/12
∴ 1/12 portion of his land is remaining with him.
