rajvir tells the various legends of how the people of the world recognized tea. there was this legend that once the twig of the tea plant fell on a vessel of boiling water. and it added a wonderful taste to the water. it was drank as a medicine more than a beverage. there is also another legend that says that when buddha was meditating he felt very sleepy so he cut of his eyelids and tea leaves grew from that area. and when this leaf was put in water and drank it banished sleep.
