5^x - 5^x-1 = 100
to make the calculation easier, factor the expression- 5^x
= (5-1)*5^x-1 = 100
=4*5^x-1 = 100
=5^x-1 = 100/4
=5^x-1 = 25
=5^x-1 = 5^2
As bases are same =
x-1 = 2
x = 2+1
x = 3
