let the length be x and breadth be 3x .

perimeter of rectangle= 2l + 2b.

so, 2(x+3x) = 96.

2x+ 6x=96.

8x = 96.

x= 12 m.

Question number (a) :-

  • Perimeter of a rectangle 96 m. It's length is 3 times it's width.

To Find :-

  • Length or Width

Solutions :-

Perimeter of a rectangle is = 2(length + Breadth)

  • Let's Breadth = 'x'
  • Length = 3x'

= > 96 =2('x'+3x')

=> 4x ×2 =96

=> 8x = 96

=> 'x'= 96/8 = 12

,, Length = 3x = 12 ×3=36m

Question number (b):-

Given :-

perimeter of a rectangular plot is 860 m.

It's length 4 more than its Breadth.

Solutions :-

L = (4+b)

•Perimeter =2(L+B)

Replacing Length we get

860 =2(4+b+b)

860 = 8+4b

4b = 860-8 =852

4b = 852

b = 852/4 =213

b = 213.

Length = 213 +5 = 217 .

Breadth = 213 .
