Given p(x)=x⁴-2x³+3x²-ax+3a-7

i ) If p(x) divided by (x+1) the

remainder is p(-1)

p(-1) = 19 [ Given ]

=> (-1)⁴-2(-1)³+3(-1)²-a(-1)+3a-7=19

=> 1+2+3+a+3a-7=19

=> 4a-1=19

=> 4a = 20

=> a = 20/4

=> a = 5

ii )If p(x) divided by (x+2) then

the remainder is p(-2)

=> p(-2) = (-2)⁴-2(-2)³+3(-2)²-5(-2)+3×5-7

[ since , a = 5 ]

= 16+16+12+10+15-7

= 62

Therefore,

a = 5

And

p(-2) = 62
