Hey mate! Here's your answer::

In India the so called lower class people has been discriminated and exploited by the so-called upper castes for a very long time. Untouchability was a cruel reality then. Bama was a victim of social discrimination. She realized this when her elder brother, Annan adviced her to fight against this prejudice. In the Memories of Childhood, the young Bama wonders seeing a scene. A man was carrying a small packet by holding it by a string. He went to the landlord, bowed low and extended the packet towards him. She narrates this incident comically to Annan. Annan told her that there is nothing funny about this incident. He revealed that the reason behind this behaviour is the behaviour of the high class people towards the low caste ones. Hearing this Bama felt miserable and sorry for the old man. Her Annan adviced her to study hard and be ahead of others in her lessons. He made her understand that education is the key to overcome the caste bias and success.

Answer:

Bama's elder brother asked her to fight against this prejudice when she told him the story of an elder man carrying a package of vadais comically. He added that since they are born into this community they are not given any honour or respect and are stripped away from all these. So he advised her to study and learn everything she can to throw away all these indignities.

If one is always ahead of his/her lesson people will always come and attach to them. So work hard and learn.
