Answer the following questions-


(i) Why are domestic circuits not arranged in a series combination?


(ii) Why is only tungsten metal used to make filaments of bulbs?

1.if domestic circuits are arranged in series combination then if we may face many problems as if we want to switch on the fan only then the whole circuit will start with fan like. light, T.V etc. so to avoid these type of problems domesticcircuits are not arranged in series combination.

2. because of tungsten's high melting point it is in filament of bulb as a lot of heat is required in this process. so, there is a chance of melting of metals so to avoid this tungsten metal having high melting point is used.

1- Domestic circuits aren't arranged in a series combination because if at a point any one component stops working then regardless of other working nature they will stop working also as current will not flow through them.

2- Tungsten is used as a filament because they can withstand temperature upto 3500°C along with high tensile strength and low vapour pressure.
