1. Why is it easier to open a door by applying the force at free end of it?
Why is it easier to turn the steering wheel of a car if its diameter is large

the door is fixed at one end and free on other ,here rotational force acts ,

called torque.

It is easier to open a door by applying the force at the free end of it because of the larger the perpendicular distance, less is the force needed to turn the body.
