Hey

2 ) Reflection :-

• The phoenomena due to which light rays bounces back after collision with any opaque object , that phenomena is known as Reflection of light .

• Laws of reelection :-

>> The angle of incidence with respect to normal is equal to the angle of reflection with respect to normal .

>> All the three rays , incident ray , normal and reflected ray , line in same plane .

3) The properties of image formed by plane mirror are :-

• Erect image

• Vurtual image

• Lateral inversion

• Magnification = +1 ( always ) .

• The distance of object from morror is same as the distance of image from mirror .

4 ) The difference between real and virual image is :-

• Real image is formed in front of mirror but virtual image gets formed behind the mirror .

• Real image is always inverted but virtual image is erect .

• Real image can be put on screen but virtual image can't be put .

5 ) Lateral inversion :-

• The phenomena due to right appears to be at left and left appears to be right , that phenomena is known as Lateral inversion .

Ambulances use this phenomena in effective way .

• Example :- Just go near the mirror and raise your right hand and see image . You will see that in image you raised left hand .

This is due to Lateral inversion .

thanks :)

Hey,
Friend,

1) REFLECTION

When light falls on a smooth or polished surface, a part of the light gets reflected this is called reflection of light.

LAWS OF REFLECTION

• The angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection. That,
< i = < r

• The incident ray, the normal to the surface at the point of incidence and the reflected ray, all lie in the same plane.

2) PROPERTIES OF IMAGE FORMED BY PLANE MIRROR.

• Image formed by plane mirror is always virtual and erect.

• The size of the image is equal to that of object.

• The image formed is as far behind the mirror as the object is in front of it.

3) DIFFERENCE BETWEEN REAL AND VIRTUAL IMAGE...

REAL IMAGE

• Real image can be taken on screen.

• Real image is always inverted.

VIRTUAL IMAGE

• Virtual image cannot be taken on screen.

• Virtual image is always erect.

4) LATERAL INVERSION

It is the phenomenon of reversing image from right to left or vice versa .

Example,

The word AMBULANCE is written on the hospital Van and when we drive in car and see the hospital Van coming from behind in our rear view mirror ,we get laterally inverted image.

Hope this will help you...
