Perimeter of square = 4 * a

= 4 * 60 = 240m

Perimeter of rectangle = 2l +2b

= 2*80 +2b

= 160+2b m

As perimeter of rectangle = perimeter of square,

240 = 160+2b

b = 40m

Area of square = a² = 3600 m²

Area of rectangle = l * b = 80*40 = 3200m²

Hence, the area of the square field has the larger area.

Answer---->Area of square field is greater.

Given-----> Side of square field is 60m and length of rectangular field is 80m and perimeter of both fields are same .

To find -----> Which field has a large area .

Solution----> We know that,

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( length + breadth )

Perimeter of square = ( Side )²

Let breadth of rectangular field be b .

Now , perimeter of rectangular field = 2 ( l + b )

= 2 ( 80 + b )

Perimeter of square = 4 ( side )

= 4 ( 60 )

= 240 m

ATQ,

Perimeter of rectangular field = perimeter of square

=> 2 ( 80 + b ) = 240

=> 80 + b = 240 / 2

=> 80 + b = 120

=> b = 120 - 80

=> b = 40 m

We know that ,

Area of square = ( Side )²

Area of rectangula = l × b

Area of rectangular field = l × b

= 80 × 40

= 3200 m²

Area of square field = ( Side )²

= ( 60 )²

= 3600 m²

Clearly area of square field is greater than area of rectangular field .
